  • The flat tax is a simplistic approach that does not address the real problem--what is and isn't income. A flat tax does not do anything regarding deductions, exemptions, credits, etc., which is where the real problem lies. Anyone who tries to sell it as something else is lying--i.e.

  • If you are producing a commodity item, you will always seek the lowest-cost labor. American workers are really only competitive when labor is a low percentage of the total fabrication cost or where very high skills (i.e. not a commodity) are needed to produce the item.

  • Show me some real data and don't pull numbers out of the air. If you are the head of a family of 4 and you earn $50K, but only pay $756 in federal income tax then either you are committing tax fraud or you have huge offsetting credits of some sort.

  • Yes there is class warfare and the rich are winning. They may pay more in taxes than ever, but they make proportionately even more money than ever, too, while the rest of us either stay even to where we were or fall behind. And the gap has been widening for 30 years.
